Update: On June 14, 2022, the Plaza Hotel & Casino unveiled four large-scale projects that will transform the front exterior of the downtown establishment. Additions include an outside bar that will be located under the iconic dome; adjacent to that will be a smoke-free gaming area with slots; the roof of the new gaming space will feature the restaurant named Oscar’s patio, which will offer open-air fine dining; and a new Pinkbox Doughnuts complete with a giant 3D doughnut. The Plaza will remain open during construction, which is expected to begin on all four projects later this month.

The Plaza Hotel & Casino is located on a 17-acre site in the heart of Downtown Las Vegas and is the gateway to the Freemont Street Experience. The iconic hotel has been part of downtown Las Vegas since opening in 1971 and is one of the original Las Vegas celebrity haunts. In November 2010, the hotel closed for a $35 million renovation and reopened in September the following year. The property currently (2020) includes 1,003 fully-renovated rooms and suites,  which offer sweeping views of the Las Vegas Strip and Downtown Las Vegas and all of the rooms now have RFID entry systems (no more card entry). 

The top four floors of the north tower, approximately 112 rooms, were completely renovated in 2019.

Other property amenities include several unique dining and entertainment outlets, including Oscar's Steak House located in the iconic dome of the Plaza, more than 25,000 sq ft of meeting and event space, a seasonal rooftop swimming pool with a 70,000 sq ft pool deck, hot tub, a gym and more. 

The new 80,000 square feet casino floor includes approximately 700 slot machines, 25 signature and classic table games, a 280-seat bingo room, a live keno lounge, a William Hill Race & Sports Book, two casino bars and more.

Oscar's Steakhouse

• Serving: Steakhouse

Named after former Las Vegas Mayor and mob attorney Oscar Goodman, this glamorous steakhouse is located inside the Plaza’s iconic glass dome overlooking the lights of Fremont Street. The decor is accented by memorabilia garnered from Mayor Goodman's 12-year tenure as Mayor, along with classic photographs spanning the history of the city. Diners can expect expertly aged steaks fired over a 600-degree grill, locking in the juices and charring the surface to perfection, along with fresh seafood, sides and appetizers. Guests can also select hand-crafted concoctions such as the Consigliere and The D.A., from the bar's creative cocktail menu. 

Coffee Bar

Located in the hotel lobby, the Coffee Bar is the perfect place for a quick pick-me-up, serving Lavazza Coffee, which provides a wide range of tastes and flavors, and other hot drinks, along with iced drinks, blended drinks, smoothies and other refreshments. Visitors can also choose from pastries, bagels, croissants including breakfast croissants, salads, sandwiches and much more. 

Hash House A Go Go

Located next to the hotel lobby at The PLaza, Hash House A Go Go serves what it describes as "farm-fresh food with a funky, modern twist," or "twisted farm food." The portions are huge and everything is cooked up fresh. The experience is meant to be lively and entertaining and after 13 years of constant expansion, Hash House a Go Go seems to be succeeding. If you like hash for breakfast, this is your place! Try the Roasted Chicken, garlic, onions, asparagus and rosemary with a couple of runny eggs and you'll see why this is the best breakfast on Freemont Street! (Also serving lunch and dinner). 

Feeling like a cocktail and a meal in one? Mosey on up to the Tractor Bar at the restaurant and try Johnny's Famous BLT Mary. It's a meal in itself and the perfect breakfast drink, hangover cure, or anytime cocktail. After a particularly gnarly evening, we recommend the "O'Hare of the Dog," a 25 oz Budweiser & 5 slices of bacon!

Pop Up Pizza

Pop Up Pizza at the Plaza Hotel and Casino delivers and allows take out. Of course you can simply stop in to enjoy hand made gourmet pizzas made to order, bar snacks, salads, vegan and vegetarian fare and more. The ingredients are all market fresh and the service and quick and friendly. 

embodies the soul of a New York pizzeria with a modern approach. Outside of the modern design and intimate setting, the food is center stage backed by scratch recipes made with passion and care. Fresh ingredients, homemade tomato sauce, and a secret dough recipe (made daily) make the pizza stand out above the rest.

Omaha Bar & Lounge

Located on the casino floor, the Omaha Bar is a great place to enjoy a drink and then enjoy performances by an array of artists each night in the Omaha Lounge, which is located near its complement bar. 

 

Sportsbook Bar

Located on the casino floor and adjacent to the William Hill Sportsbook, this bar is the place to be to watch games or races with friends and family and enjoy your favorite libations. Be sure to check with the bar for monthly drink specials and any other current promotions. 

Core Arena

Located adjacent to the Plaza Hotel & Casino, the Core Arena is the first and only permanent outdoor equestrian center in Downtown Las Vegas. The arena has 80 stalls that are available for year-round use and features two outdoor arenas for roping practice and exercise during the rodeo. 

 

Studio 71

Located in the former party pit, Studio 71 is a disco-themed photo op for guests to take selfies with their friends, family, or whoever. There are neon showgirls, big dice, roller skates, mirrored balls and more, all reminiscent of the Plaza's early years.
