The MGM Grand  Detroit casino resort officially opened on October 3, 2007, although there had been a temporary casino open since July 1999.  The resort includes the 400-room and suite MGM Grand Hotel which features plenty of upscale, casual, and quick bite dining options including a modern steakhouse and lounge. All of the guestrooms are air-conditioned and the private showers in the rooms feature rainfalls showerheads and televisions.

The hotel has a 20,000 sq ft spa, a health club, an indoor pool, virtual golf/Topgolf Swing Suite and 30,000 square feet of meeting and event space including the Event Center. Visitors will find free high-speed internet in public areas and full-service concierge staff.

This was the first Las Vegas-style casino in Michigan and the first luxury casino resort hotel in a major metropolis outside of Las Vegas. The lavish property boasts 100,000 square feet of gaming space with approximately 2,800 slots and video poker machines including a smoke-free gaming salon with both slots and table games, nearly 160 table games, and a 14-table poker room. The spacious casino also boasts a contemporary lounge and a daiquiri bar as well as the BetMGM Sports Lounge, which is a sports lover's dream, and features a full bar with bar-top video poker, betting windows, self-service betting kiosks and more!

MGM Poker Room

Located right off the main casino floor near the outdoor smoking area, the MGM Grand Detroit's 14-table premier poker room offers a comfortable and contemporary atmosphere, featuring games Limit Texas Hold 'Em, No-Limit Texas Hold 'Em, Pot-Limit Omaha as well as other cash games and tournaments. The spacious cardroom has 18 large screen TVs,  is smoke-free, well-lighted and very modern. There is a small waiting area with nice seating.

Waiting lists are managed via a self-sign-up kiosk that allows you to sign up and pick your seat for the ring games.  The tables are new and equipped with auto shufflers, comfy chairs, valet parking, TVs, cocktail service, comps and more.

The Roasted Bean

Located at the casino's entrance, The Roasted Bean coffee shop features local products and fresh baked goods by renowned pastry chef Orlando Santos. Roasted Bean Detroit serves the finest coffee from beans roasted daily, right in Michigan. Visitors can also choose from baked goods and sandwiches.

TAP at MGM Grand Detroit is the city's newest and possibly greatest sports pub. Pub classics and comfort food fill the menu along with specialties like fried mac and cheese. Order up some of that along with some hot wings and a classic TAP burger, get a few buckets of beer and you are ready for a night of cheering and jeering. Beer selections range from premium Michigan craft brews to PBR, with over 50 choices on the curated menu. The setting here takes you back in time to the industrial age and the sports memorabilia captures some of the greatest moments in Detroit sports history. There are also 40 HDTV's too, so come on in and enjoy TAP at MGM Grand Detroit.

Located near the high limit lounge, this contemporary, upscale steakhouse serves flame-grilled steaks and seafood with a globally inspired twist. Guests can relax and sip on signature cocktails, wine or draft beer and choose from shellfish and sharables, steaks and chops like Strauss Veal Chops, Double Cut Colorado Lamb Chops, 34oz Tomahawk Prime Ribeye and much more.

MGM Grand Detroit's new urban food hall offers fast-casual dining, featuring locally and globally inspired culinary favorites. Visitors choose everything from fried chicken sandwiches at Fat Daddy's Hot Chicken, and authentic Mexican street tacos from Diablo's Tacos to satisfying Asian noodles at Grand Wok Noodle Bar, tasty Detroit-style pizza at The Corners and gourmet desserts from Indulge. Ordering is easy, all you need to do to check out the menus is scan the QR code on the table you're sitting at with your mobile device. Axis Lounge

Conveniently located right off the casino floor, the Axis Lounge is open daily and features live local bands performing classic hits ranging from Motown to jazz to modern pop. It's an ideal spot to let loose with signature cocktails and enjoy live entertainment.

 

Meeting & Event Space

MGM Grand Detroit offers 30,000 square feet of functional event space for private parties, conferences and events for approximately 800 people, with an inflow up to 1,200.

• Grand Ballroom opens to 14,000 sq. ft. or divides into four Ballroom Salons
• 3 meeting rooms (Amber, Garnet and Sapphire) at 1,600 sq. ft. per room; divided in half, each accommodates up to 86 people each

BetMGM Sports Lounge

Located near the Hotel Valet entrance, across from TAP, the BetMGM Sports Lounge is open 7 days a week from 11am to 1:30am. The non-smoking venue features wall-to-wall coverage of all the games via 60 HD TVs that you can watch in plush stadium seating or at the bar, where you will find 14 bar top video poker machines.
