Harrah’s Metropolis has been known as "The Boat" to visitors since it opened in 1993 but that changed at the end of 2014. The boat has sailed and the casino has moved into the convention center attached to the hotel so everything is on one level and visitors  have all of the amenities at their fingertips.  Metropolis is an easy drive from Nashville and St. Louis and this should be a great shot in the arm to this venerable Metropolis, Illinois landmark.

Currently the property offers 24,269 square feet of gambling space and serves an average of 1823 players daily.  On offer are 800 slots and video poker machines with a dedicated VP room. Not counting poker there are 22  table games. The poker room now has 5 tables  spreading Texas Hold 'em. The casino is open 24 hours and the poker room opens at 6pm on most days, 11am Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. The property offers three restaurants including the new Bridges Dining Company, concerts in the Riverfront Event Center, and a hotel with 252 rooms.

Harrah's Metropolis Poker Room

Harrah's Metropolis has a 5-table, non-smoking room.  A 2/5 NL game is spread daily and is the cardroom's main game ( 2-3 tables during the week, 4 on weekends).

Tournament play is 6pm every Thursday. The game is open to everyone, but there are limited spots available. Go to the poker room to pre-register. Buy-ins from 4:30 PM–5:30 PM. The tournament begins at 6 PM. Stop by Total Rewards for complete details.

Bridges Dining Company is the signature upscale dining establishment at Harrah’s Metropolis Casino. Whether your appetite demands fresh seafood, savory fowl, or a juicy steak prepared to perfection you will find excellent fare prepared by award winning chefs here 7 nights a week. There is an extensive wine list as well as a full bar for those who prefer cocktails with their dinner. Guests must be at least 21 to enter the steakhouse which is just off the casino floor.

Fresh Buffet

Lunch and dinner at Fresh Buffet will make you feel like you went down home and Momma whipped you a big batch of supper ona Sunday. Enjoy down-home favorites like hush puppies and cornmeal fried catfish and top it off with all the pecan pie your heart desires. It's all Southern and country style fare here, and just like at Momma's it's all you can eat.

Guests of Harrah's Metropolis Riverfront Event Center can take in some great shows at the Riverfront Event Center. You won't find the venue listed on the Harrah's website but you can find the next scheduled performace under their "Promotions" tab on top of the page. The event we see coming up next as we review this fine property is Wynonna & The Big Noise - scheduled for early May, 2014. We don't find a Ticketmaster of Stubhub page for the venue so we suggest you call (800) 745-3000 with inquiries or visit the casino's Promotions pages for the current line-up.
