Update Dec 2023: Representatives for developer Elevation Entertainment said in a December 2023 statement that while they love Reno, the project is on hold for the time being because of the 'challenging financial market.'

California-based Elevation Entertainment has proposed Reno's first ground-up hotel-casino project in decades. To be located on a near 20-acre site on the corner of Kietzke Lane and South Virginia Street just across the south end of the Reno-Sparks Convention Center in Reno, Nevada, the proposed venue has been tentatively named the Firecreek Crossing Resort-Casino. The development will reportedly include more than 200 rooms and suites, a 62,500 square-foot gaming floor, over 1,200 slot machines, 40 gaming tables including poker, a sports book and more. In addition to a hotel-casino with a lobby bar, initial plans for the project reportedly include a public park, restaurants, food court and beer garden.

The real estate and entertainment company reportedly filed a site plan with the city of Reno on Nov. 28, 2022.
