Pre-launch temporary gaming facility casino now open in Kings Mountain, NC.
The South Carolina-based Catawba Indian Nation opened a preliminary, temporary version of its $700 million Catawba Two Kings Casino Resort, which broke ground on June 7, 2024, in Kings Mountain, just off Interstate 85 along Dixon School Road about 35 miles west of Charlotte, North Carolina. Since opening in 2021, the temporary Kings Mountain gaming facility has undergone three expansions, the latest in June 2024, with live table games opening for the first time. In addition to the 12 tables, 64 slot machines were added a few weeks earlier.
The casino has a 30,000 sq ft gaming floor, along with some 1,000 slot machines, electronic table games and live table games, a sportsbook and guest amenities, including a cafe with quick eats, grab-and-go snacks and alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. The casino also has a food truck featuring local favorites seven days a week.
The temporary casino will operate until the opening of the permanent Catawba Two Kings Casino Resort, with the introductory phase to open in early 2026.
The new casino will be operated by New York-based hospitality company Delaware North.
