The Singapore Racecourse is sometimes known as Kanji Racecourse or the Singapore Turf Club. The venue is located at 1 Turf Club Avenue, Singapore Racecourse, in Kranji, Singapore. The track opened in 2000 and hosts about 100 race days throughout the year. Races are held most Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays. The course is owned by Singapore Turf Club, a member of the Malayan Racing Association. Other tracks in the association are the Penang Turf Club, Perak Turf Club, and Selangor Turf Club in Malaysia.
History for the club and track go back to the first Singapore Sports Club which opened in October 1842. The current track officially opened March 4, 2000 with soft opening and inaugural races held in late 1999.
The track is left-hand and oval shape, 2,000 meters long and 31 meters wide. The base is sand and the track is turfed with El-Toro Zoysia grass. There is also a 1,500 meter Polytrack used fro training and racing.
