Scottsville Racecourse, in Pietermaritzburg, South Africa is home to some of the finest horseracing and pari-mutuel betting available in the country. The racecourse is oval shaped having a circumference of 2,300m and a straight course of 1,200m.
It has become one of the top tourist’s destination in Pietermaritzburg with its racecourse maintained the old-fashioned way of the plough and oxen which is hardly found anymore. The 14-meter Pegasus is the largest horse statue in the world proudly greeting visitors into the Golden Horse Casino.
