J Resort, formerly Sands Regency Casino Hotel after a $300 million redevelopment, is situated at the corner of Arlington Ave. and W. 4th St. and anchors the Neon Line District (downtown) in Reno, Nevada. The 1st phase of owner Jacobs Entertainment's project at its flagship property was completed in June 2023 and renovated its 750 rooms and added restaurants J Paul’s Italian Steakhouse, Hanna’s Table and Afterglow Lounge. The casino has been completely remodeled and now includes 600-plus new gaming positions. Also part of the transition, there are 1,000 surface parking spaces for both valet and self-parking. 

Phase two of development will reportedly cost $100 million and start summer 2023, with a target completion date of late 2024. It will expand J Resort’s gaming area and add amenities such as an Asian food and gaming venue, a sports-themed lounge and rooftop indoor/outdoor swimming pool and spa.

After phase two is completed, Jacobs Entertainment will focus on some of the other components envisioned in the multi-year J Resort master plan. These components include a 6,500-seat Mountain View outdoor amphitheater, a large outdoor day pool, a 3,500-seat Vegas-style indoor showroom, a 400-seat dinner theater, a zip line 150 feet over Reno's Neon Line, over 100,000 square feet of state-of-the-art conference space, additional enclosed parking, and more than 1,200 additional resort guest rooms.

Also, just outside of J Resort, visitors will find the Glow Plaza Festival Grounds where more than 50 event days, festivals and outdoor special events are on tap for the summer.

The Buffet

The fine dining restaurant also features fresh seafood and handmade pasta, soup & salad, antipasti and desserts. Pair your entree with something from the Craft Cocktail Program and international wine list. Top everything off with Edible Art or a Chocolate Cigar.

New to J Resort, Hanna's Table is a casual dining restaurant offering breakfast, lunch and dinner, featuring a full-service bar and a seasonal outdoor dining area. It's the perfect place to jump-start your day with a hot cup of coffee and a good breakfast such as an omelet, steak & eggs, buttermilk pancakes, French toast and more. Late risers can recharge with a filling lunch, with café classics and decadent desserts, and come back for dinner and late-night bites.
