Rosecroft Raceway originally opened in 1949 in Fort Washington, Maryland and is now owned by Penn National Gaming. Live harness racing begins March and runs through December with various live race dates each month. Simulcast betting is open year round, 7 days a week.

The Terraces Dining Room accepts reservations for Tuesday and Saturday evening dining. Other activities at Rosecroft include The Old School Boxing Gym, festivals, rugby games, special events and large banquets.

The track was closed for 14 months beginning in 2010  and re-opened August 25, 2011. One of two raceways in Prince George's County was slated to receive a casino license as early as 2014.  It is expected by many that Rosecroft may close in 2015 with announcement that National Harbor was the recipient.
