Update: The 2019 Winter Meet will have 6 weekends of live racing, February 9 through March 17, 2019. This year includes 12 live race days. Dates are subject to approval by Arizona Board of Racing and may change.
Rillito Park Race Track is located at 4502 North First Avenue, in Tucson, Arizona. The five-eighths mile horse track was added to include quarter horse racing in 1953 and now both types of races occur. Racing takes place in the cool months of late January or early February until the last post in March or April.
The track is owned by Pima County. Conflicts between horse racing and the county have been going on for some time. In 2009 there was a plan to demolish the facility but a downturn in the economy shelved the plans and the horse racing facility was granted a 5-year extension which expired at the close of the 2014 season.

Gaming at Rillito Park Race Track
The historic Rillito Park was a pioneer in the use of photo finishes and other racing innovations still in use at tracks around the world today. The track is 5/8 of a mile, dirt, and hosts Quarter Horse, Thoroughbred and even Arabian horse racing upon occasion. There are usually about 16 meets per year on Saturdays and Sundays in the winter.
*2019 Winter Meet: February 09-March 17 - Gates open at 10am on race days.
Enjoy the races close-up on the rail or in the grandstands with two restaurants and bars as well as a view of the foothills.
Simulcast betting is currently not available and the track does not broadcast live races to other venues.
A bond election in 2015 may determine the fate of this historic track.

Horse racing is a family affair at the Rillito Park Race Track in Tucson. The Clubhouse offers a complete restaurant with all of your American and Southwest favorites and there are concessions in the grandstand for a quick bite while the horses are thundering by. Snacks and beverages are available on both levels of the grandstand so you are never far from your favorite stadium style food like hot dogs, burgers, nachos, and more.
