The Red Mile Kentucky Harness & Historic Racing Review Jump to comments
The Red Mile is located at 1200 Red Mile Road in Lexington, Kentucky. It is the second oldest harness track in the world and the oldest track in Lexington. For those unfamiliar with harness racing, it's a type of horse racing where the horses pull two wheeled sulkies (like a chariot) that carry the rider.
In 2014 the race track announced they would be partnering with local thoroughbred track, Keeneland to build a multi-million dollar historical racing facility. Over 900 of the slot-like gaming devices opened for public play on September 12, 2015 some 140 years after the first races were run.
The Red Mile is in the heart of Bluegrass Country and offers visitors a truly unique race day experience.
