After the completion of an expansion in Feb. 2025, the Prairie Flower Casino in Carter Lake, Iowa grew 7xs larger than the old facility, which is located adjacent to the new building. The project was initially slated for a summer 2024 opening, however, construction delays attributed to supply-chain challenges during the pandemic were encountered.

Originally 9,500 square feet, the new casino features 70,000 square feet of Las Vegas-style gambling. The number of gaming positions also increased, with the slots and video machine count tripling from 200 to 600. The casino added electronic table games, a sportsbook and expanded dining and drink menus.  

Owned and operated by the Ponca Tribe of Nebraska, the property is located just 5 minutes from Downtown Omaha, Prairie Flower Casino is owned and operated by the Ponca Tribe of Nebraska. The tribe has already begun planning phase two of the development, which could reportedly include a larger casino with 2,000 slot machines, 50 table games and a 150-room hotel.
