On November 15, 2022, a three-level restaurant, bar and casino called “Cru," won approval from the Missoula City Council in Montana. The enterprise would be located on the southeast corner of a larger development called Mullan Crossing, at the intersection of Clark Fork Lane and Mullan Road.  Press Box sports bar owners John Sargent and James Jones, along with two other Missoulians, comprise the development team behind CRU. In addition to other facets of the business, Cru will reportedly offer fine dining, beer, wine and spirits, as well as take-and-bake foods.

The proposed project will reportedly break ground by 2024 and include approximately 13,000 square feet with a kitchen and tasting room in the basement while the main floor will include the restaurant and tavern, with the casino to be located in a separate area. Plans also include a smaller bar on the second floor and a small shop on the main floor.

In order to proceed with the entire project, Sargent and Jones needed to obtain a conditional use permit from the city to operate the tavern and casino, which they did.
