Update: On or before April 23, casino and food and beverage operations at Monticello Raceway will come to an end. News of the closing was revealed by the racino’s owner, Empire Resorts, in a Securities and Exchange Commission on Tuesday, January 22, 2019. For the time being, the harness racing track will remain in operation, with further details to follow.

Monticello Raceway, is located at 204 Route 17b in Monticello, New York, about 90 minutes from New York City. The venue became Monticello Casino and Raceway on June 20, 2004, with the addition of 40,000 square feet of casino floor space and over 1,000 slots games from the New York Lottery. They've recently added electronic roulette with more electronic table games promised in the near future.

You can still bet on live harness racing at least four days a week, 52 weeks out of the year as well.

The facility is owned by Empire Resorts, open from 10am until 4am daily, features two bars, one with live entertainment, a food court, buffet, and The Terrace Restaurant which is only open Fridays and Saturdays.

Buffet offers up a tantalizing spread of buffet fare seven days a week with special menus on certain days. Of course they rotate the menu with the season, but in June we are seeing All American fare on Monday and Tuesday, Italian on Wednesday, BBQ Friday, and prime rib and shrimp on Saturday. Sunday they offer a brunch beginning at 11am with the  dinner menu beginning at 2pm.

Enjoy a seat or rush in and get back to your game with Grab-N-Go Sandwiches  for $6.95from 12pm - 1am.

The Terrace

The Terrace may only be open Friday and Saturday nights, but aren't most good things hard to come by? If you come into Monticello Casino & Raceway when they are open, you can enjoy fresh seafood and juicy steaks just the way you like them. If you can't decide, simply try the surf and turf with lobster tail and filet of beef tenderloin for the best of both worlds.

You will find a live band putting out the vibe every Friday and Saturday night at Monticello Casino in The Lava Lounge.  You usually won't hear the same band two nights in a row so check the listings page if you are not sure whether to come Friday or Saturday.
