Lower 89 Project Review Jump to comments
A 13.79-acre site, which involves three contiguous parcels totaling approximately 13.8 acres in Coconino County, northeast of Flagstaff, Arizona that was transferred into trust in Nov. 2024, making it part of the Navajo Reservation is to be the site of the Navajo Nation's second casino in the area. The yet-to-be-named casino being referred to as the "Lower 90 Project" is to be located on the site of the former Horsemen Lodge steakhouse and the adjacent Flying Heart Stables, just outside the city limits on U.S 89, about four miles north of Flagstaff Mall.
According to reports, the new casino will be permitted to have up to 300 gaming devices in keeping with the Tribal-State Gaming Pact of 2021.
The Navajo Nation Gaming Enterprise has operated Twin Arrows Navajo Casino Resort just east of Flagstaff since 2013. The enterprise is also responsible for three casinos in New Mexico.
