Lone Star Park at Grand Prairie is the most complete horse-centric entertainment destination we have found so far in Texas. It is located in the Dallas/Ft. Worth Metro area about 1/2 mile off Interstate 30 on Belt Line Road. The park features two live racing season each year with the Spring Thoroughbred Season usually running from early April through mid July, and the Fall Meeting of Champions from early September through mid November.
Simulcast racing is open 363 days per year at the Bar & Book, a high tech Las Vegas style racebook featuring restaurant fare and full bar service. Silks Dining Terraces offers upscale and casual fare as well as Box Seats and several suites. There are several luxury hotels in the area and Howard Johnsons Express on the property. Lone Star Park was purchased by Global Gaming Solutions in May 2011, a wholly owned subsidiary of the Chickasaw Nation.

Lone Star Park has a one mile dirt oval race track and a seven furlong turf track. The grandstand is climate controlled and will comfortably hold 8,000 people. The Thoroughbred season runs roughly from early April to early July and Quarter Horses run from mid September through Mid November.
Simulcast wagering is open all year except for December 24th and 25th. Half of the Racebook is non-smoking and there are glass enclosed lounge areas with flatscreens and projection TVs.

The fare includes innovative appetizers and starters, classic steakhouse fare including seafood, a plethora of sides, and house-made desserts. The buffet now has twice as many selections for veggie lovers with 25 items on the salad bar.

The Bar & Book at Lone Star Park is open 363 days a year with no admission fee. Betting carrels can be reserved for $3.00 per day by phone. The sports bar features large screen TVs in a glass enclosed lounge area separate from the Racebook. All major sporting events are shown on 32" flatscreens and three projection screens.
Tables have multi-user interactive touch screens built in. Play games, watch media content or order food and drinks without needing to catch the waitresses eye. The dining menu offers full meal service, 12 tap beers, imports, wines, and a host of premium cocktails.
