Update: Set to become the first land-based casino in the Shreveport-Bossier market, Live! Casino & Hotel Louisiana marked a construction milestone on July 17, 2024, when officials with developer, The Cordish Companies, along with state and local dignitaries celebrated the topping off of the $270 million resort's new hotel entrance. Construction on the brand-new 47,000-square-foot land-based casino facility is also underway.

Expected to open in Q1 2025, the forthcoming casino will include more than 47,000-square-feet of gaming space; over 1,000 slots and electronic table games; 40-plus live action table games; a sportsbook; an upscale 550-room hotel, resort pool and fitness center; a 25,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art, multi-purpose Event Center for top name entertainment, meeting, conventions, a 31-site RV park with concrete pads and full hook-ups; structured and surface parking; and over 30,000 square feet of premier dining and entertainment options.

After already having dismantled and hauled off the old riverboat casino, The Cordish Companies broke ground on Dec 13, 2023, to celebrate construction of the $270 million Live! Casino & Hotel Louisiana, formerly Diamond Jacks Casino in Bossier City which has been shuttered since 2020. Among the highlights, the renovation will reportedly include Sports & Social sports bar and restaurant curated by James Beard Award nominee Chef John Suley; PBR Cowboy Bar; Luk Fu, a restaurant featuring the traditional flavors of Southeast Asia; and a fine dining steakhouse yet to be branded.

On Oct. 19, 2023, the Louisiana Gaming Control Board granted LRGC Gaming Investors, LCC, an affiliate of The Cordish Companies, the necessary regulatory approvals required to become a gaming operator in the State. The approval clears the way for Cordish to finalize the acquisition of Diamond Jacks Casino & Hotel in Bossier City and begin construction of the first land-based casino in the Shreveport-Bossier market. Cordish plans include replacing the existing casino riverboat with LIVE! Casino & Hotel Louisiana.
