Although no firm plans or license have been announced, it has been reported since early 2015 that Hard Rock is working closely with Banyan Tree to develop a casino worth about $2 billion. Hard Rock would contribute about $100 million for the gaming and entertainment portions.
In addition to the casino, which is pending regulatory approval, additional residential hill villas overlooking the East Sea will be built at the Cu Du Village site. The following  is from the Laguna Lang Co website, "Phase I comprised of a 57-villa Banyan Tree resort, 229 room Angsana resort, luxury residences, Nick Faldo designed championship golf course, two spas, ten restaurants and bars and a conference center. Phase IIA will include additional luxury accommodations and the possible addition of a gaming facility."

The first phase of the casino's development should see between 60-80 gaming tables along with electronic gaming options.
