Update Oct 2022: PENN Entertainment (formerly Penn National Gaming) is moving its Hollywood Casino Aurora property from its current location on the Fox River in downtown Aurora, Illinois, where it has been home since opening in 1993, to a site closer to the Reagan Memorial Tollway (I-88), adjacent to the Chicago Premium Outlets Mall on Farnsworth Avenue. The new facility will reportedly include an attached 200-room hotel, approximately 900 slots and 50 live table games (including a baccarat room and a poker room) and a state-of-the-art retail sportsbook. Other amenities will reportedly include a full-service spa, high-quality bars and restaurants, approximately 10,000 square feet of meeting areas and an event center. The new land-based casino and hotel is expected to open sometime around 2025. The casino relocation plan was unanimously approved on Oct. 25 2022 by the Aurora City Council.
