UPDATE: May 2, 2024: Ho-Chunk officials say they are planning a ground-breaking in Beloit in fall 2024 and the construction could take up to 18 months.

To be located between Willowbrook and Colley roads, the Ho-Chunk Nation of Wisconsin's planned casino and resort development in Beloit will reportedly feature an 18-story hotel with 300 rooms and suites, multiple food and beverage outlets, including full-service restaurants, and more than 1,500 slots along with approximately 44 gaming tables and a sports betting area in the 139,000 sq ft casino. The project would also include a 40,000-square-foot water park, an employee childcare facility, and a 30,000-square-foot multi-purpose convention center.

On May 13, 2022, the Bureau of Indian Affairs gave final approval to a $405 million Beloit Ho Chunk Casino Complex project, after getting the nod from Gov. Tony Evers in 2021. That, after on April 16, 2020, the U.S. Department of Interior approved the Ho-Chunk Nation's proposal for a Beloit casino by issuing approval of land into trust status for a portion of the 70-acre property, 32 acres of which was purchased in 2009 and in 2013 41 acres was purchased from the City of Beloit. 

Rockford’s Hard Rock Casino will open in fall 2024 and is less than half an hour away.
