The Ameristar Casino & Hotel in East Chicago, Indiana has a 56,000 square foot casino with 1,700 gaming machines and 72 table games. There is a newly renovated hotel with 288 well-appointed rooms including 5 junior suites and 7 super suites with over 1,000 square feet of space each. All rooms are over 500 square feet. The casino and hotel are open 24/7 and there are 7 eateries on the property.

Currently, a dockside pavilion is used to house Ameristar's six restaurants, each with its own offerings ranging from deli sandwiches to juicy steaks and seafood. However, Ameristar plans to renovate the space and upon completion, estimated to be in mid-April, it will reportedly offer 95 high-limit slots, 14 high-limit table games and dedicated high-limit amenities, including a casino cage, rewards center, food, beverages and restrooms.

Casino boat operations will continue, with about 100 extra gaming positions on the main level, for those who prefer to wager less on the slots and tables.

The casino is on a ship permanently moored on Lake Michigan with gambling on 4 spacious decks. Valet parking is available at the casino entrance. Land lovers may want to check out other gambling opportunities in the nearby Illinois area. But if you fancy gambling on a ship in a newly renovated venue, you'll find plenty of excitement at the Ameristar Casino & Hotel  East Chicago.
