Located along the Interstate 80/94 Expressway (Burr Street exit) at 5400 West 29th Avenue in Gary, Indiana, the $300 million Hard Rock Casino Northern Indiana celebrated its grand opening on May 14, 2021. The 200,000 sq ft state-of-the-art casino entertainment destination, which is operated by Hard Rock International and owned by the Seminole Tribe of Florida, features 150,000 sq ft of dedicated gaming, including more than 1,800 table games and slot machines, an upscale High-Limit room for VIP experiences and an Asian High-Limit room and an on-site full-service retail sportsbook. Visitors can also choose from five dining options, a variety of bars, a retail Rock Shop, and Hard Rock Live for live music and entertainment.   

Hard Rock International had planned part two of the multi-phase development, a 200-room hotel and a parking structure, to be completed sometime in 2023, however, in Dec 2022, COO Jon Lucas said that due to "economic uncertainty" they've "paused that."

Located in the new Hard Rock Casino Northern Indiana, the 250-seat Hard Rock Cafe offers a rock and roll vibe along with live music, entertainment and authentic made-from-scratch American-diner-inspired cuisine. In addition to a stage for live entertainment and music memorabilia, the 4,200 sq ft venue serves up the Legendary Steak Burgers, specialty entrees, such as baby Back Ribs and Cedar Plank Salmon, along with starters and shareables, salads and sandwiches, desserts, an extensive drinks menu and more. The restaurant also has a regional menu and a late night menu when you just have have some Pork carnitas Street Tacos or one of the other tasty bites.

There is a Late Night Menu and full-service bar open daily.

Open nightly, 7 days a week for dinner, the 100-seat Council Oak Steaks & Seafood is one of five restaurants at Hard Rock Casino Northern Indiana and features U.S.D.A. Prime cuts that are dry-aged for 28 days, including Bone-In New York Strip and Ribeye, Porterhouse, Filet Mignon that are cooked to order in the exhibition kitchen. Diners can also choose from house specialties such as Cider Glazed Berkshire Pork Chops, Chilean Sea Bass and 2lb Coal Fried Lobster along with a variety of sides, salads, soups, appetizers and a raw bar.
