The Grand Traverse Band of Ottawa & Chippewa Indians opened a new gaming facility on January 22, 2025 in Benzie County, Michigan. Crystal Shores Casino is a temporary facility that is housed on trust land in a tribal government building located at 7282 Hoadley Road, near the intersection of US-31 and M-115 highways. The gaming facility's 2,794 square feet features 70 slot and video poker machines, with a variety of popular games.

On-site dining is also provided and part of the Grand Rewards program, allowing players to take advantage of alll the benefits available at the federally-recognized tribe's sister properties in Michigan, including Turtle Creek Casino & Hotel in Williamsburg and Leelanau Sands Casino & Lodge in Peshawbestown.

While details regarding the long-term plans are not yet known, the temporary Crystal Shores Casino is housed in a government building owned by the tribe. 

According to reports, once operations are up and running, the tribe will start making plans to develop a new, bigger casino somewhere on that trust land. At that time, the building housing the temporary casino will revert back to tribal government rations. In December 2024, the tribe made mention that “further planning and development are ongoing.”
