The Grand Traverse Band of Ottawa & Chippewa Indians is excited to announce plans for a new gaming facility in Benzie County, Michigan located at 7282 Hoadley Road on trust land near the intersection of US-31 and M-115 highways. While details regarding the long-term plans are not yet known, the temporary casino is expected to open on Wednesday, Jan 22, 2025, in a government building owned the tribe. The casino will reportedly be a slots-only facility.

According to reports, once operations are up and running, the tribe will start making plans to develop a new, bigger casino somewhere on that trust land. At that time, the building housing the temporary casino will revert back to tribal government rations. In December 2024, the tribe made mention that “further planning and development are ongoing.”

The federally recognized tribe already operates two successful gaming facilities in Michigan: Turtle Creek Casino & Hotel in Williamsburg and Leelanau Sands Casino & Lodge in Peshawbestown.
