News: In Sept 2024, the Illinois Racing Board approved the acquisition of FanDuel Sportsbook and Horse Racing, formerly Fairmount Park, by Accel Entertainment. The gaming company's execs outlined plans to have a temporary casino operating on-site before the 2025 Kentucky Derby (G1) in May and promised improvements and upgrades in all areas at the Collinsville, Illinois track.

 

FanDuel Sportsbook & Horse Racing, formerly Fairmount Park Racetrack, is located at 9301 Collinsville Road in Collinsville, Illinois near Saint Louis, and is actually part of the city's metro area. The track hosts Thoroughbred flat racing but discontinued harness racing in 1999. It is the only active horse racing venue outside of the Chicago area, excepting brief seasons at fairs.

The track is one mile long and flat dirt. The season has been dramatically reduced in recent years with financial hardships due to nearby casinos taking the betting audience. The facility is still trying to get slots at the venue to be able to increase income and purses.

The track offers various entertainment draws throughout the year such as party at the Park, Horse Hooky, Clyde's Court and other special events with discount prices. "Racetrack Bingo" is a free game with prizes up to $250. Upon entering the racetrack visitors are given a random bingo card. Any or all of 50 possible events that occur allow visitors to mark a spot on the card to win prizes for a letter "F" pattern or a blackout.

There are four dining venues at the park as well as a trackside pavillion with buffet options.

Top of the Turf

Top of the Turf is situated on the third floor of the Clubhouse at Fairmount Park and offers skybox luxury with an unequaled view of the races. Enjoy your own private television set to see zooms and finishes by a nose, as well as simulcast races from all over the country. Enjoy your meal indoors or on the outside deck in better weather. It will cost $2 to enter on the weekend and a track view table has a minimum order of  $8 per person. Catfish or burgers, toasted ravioli, shrimp po boy, or steak dinner, you will have plenty of choices.

Black Stallion Room

• Serving: American, Buffet, Cafe/Variety

You will find the Black Stallion Room on the second floor of the Clubhouse at Fairmount Park racetrack. The room offers stunning views of the racetrack's live action along with sumptuous buffets featuring all your favorites. Reservations are strongly suggested and you can secure one by calling  Nikki at 618-345-4300 extension 110. Management will assign seating based on availability.

The Tuesday afternoon buffet is available from 11:30am until 2:30pm and the Saturday deluxe dinner buffet is open 6pm to 9pm. Lunch is 413 and dinner is $20 which include food, non-alcoholic beverages, tax, seating for the entire day or evening of live races, and access to the full service bar.

Kids up to 11 eat for half price.

First Turn Café

• Serving: Pizza, Prime Rib, Cafe/Variety

The First Turn Café is located track side on the first floor of the clubhouse at Fairmount Park and offers excellent views of the first turn as the harness racing champions are jockeying for position. It offers a casual dining atmosphere with waitress service so you can enjoy everything from pizza to a prime rib dinner.  The venue is a traditional contemporary café with booths, tables, a salad bar, and a wall of personal monitors for watching the race info or covering your favorite off-track action.

Paddock Grill & Picnic Area

Enjoy all of your summertime barbeque favorites at the Paddock Grill & Picnic Area at Fairmount Park.  See your favorite horses get ready to race as you relax in the open air and dine on easy foods like philly steak sandwiches, brats. grilled burgers and classic Chicago style hot dogs and more. The prices are just right as well. A philly steak sandwich along with potato salad or cole slaw is just $6. A hot dog, brat, or barbacue hamburger with one side is just $5.00
