Diamond Jo Park City Review Jump to comments
Update July 2023: Boyd Gaming's "Diamond Jo" proposal was disqualified from consideration of where to place a historical horse racing casino in Sedgwick County. Since Boyd Gaming already operates the Kansas Star Casino in Mulvane its application was taken out of the running to prevent a potential monopoly in one of the state's gambling zones.
Feb. 2023: Nevada-based casino and entertainment company, Boyd Gaming, has partnered with Laham Development of Wichita to build and operate a historic horse-racing (HHR) gaming facility in Park City, Kansas, and has submitted an application to the Kansas Racing and Gaming Commission. To be located along I-135 near the 77th Street exit in Sedgwick County, the $160 million development would reportedly feature a casino floor with as many as 1,000 HHRs, along with an upscale steakhouse, a FanDuel-themed bar and grill, a contemporary bar & lounge, meeting and convention space, and the state's first Amazon Go store.

Gaming at Diamond Jo Park City
The proposed Diamond Jo Park City would have up to 1,000 historical horse racing machines (HHRs). HHRs look and operate just like slot machines, but rather than using a random number generator (RNG) to determine the outcome of play like traditional slot machines, wins are based on previously run horse races.
