After nearly three decades in business, Brisbane’s Treasury Casino will cease gaming operations at 11pm on Sunday, August 25, 2024, and the property will close an hour later at midnight. The hotel will remain operational while the operator, The Star Entertainment Group, looks to sell both Italian Renaissance-style buildings built between 1883 and 1905. It expects both sites to be refurbished and reopen as retail and dining venues before the end of 2025. The Star Club Membership benefits will be transferred to The Star Brisbane, which will open as the main gambling venue in the $4 billion Queen’s Wharf precinct on Thursday, August 29, 2024. The company’s [Star Ent.] Queensland license only allows for one Brisbane casino. Queen’s Wharf is being delivered by the Destination Brisbane Consortium, a joint venture between The Star Entertainment Group and its offshore partners, Chow Tai Fook Enterprises and Far East Consortium.

Treasury Casino & Hotel is located at 130 Williams Street in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. The casino is housed in an the historic Historic Heritage building now, and as such you won't find a single, wide spanning casino floor - rather gaming rooms throughout the building. Open 24/7, except on three holidays per year, the casino provides visitors with live entertainment and several dining and drink options. 

There are about 80 gaming tables plus 8 dedicated to live poker cash and tournament games and over 1,600 pokies, or slot machines and electronic table games.

The current hotel is a Diamond Resorts property and bookings can be made online.
