The Cloverdale Rancheria of Pomo Indians plans to erect a casino resort in Sonoma County. The Cloverdale Rancheria Resort and Casino will be established on a 70+ acre land located near Asti Road between Highway 101 and the Russian River at the southern edge of Cloverdale, California. The tribe is in partnership with Sealaska, an Alaska Native corporation and the project is estimated to cost $320 million. The casino resort is expected to bring great opportunities such as creating local jobs as well as bringing revenue to the City and County.

The California tribe’s land-into-trust application was approved by the Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA) and published in the Federal Register.

The casino resort will feature a hotel, casino, convention center, event center and other ancillary facilities.  The hotel will cover a floor area of more than 280,000 sq ft offering 244 guestrooms, a spa, pool and 3,400 parking spaces. The convention center will offer facilities for both large and small events/meetings.  The event center adjoining the casino will feature non-gaming related activities such as local and regional theater and musical performances.

The casino covering a floor area of more than 80,000 sq ft will feature 2,000 modern electronic gaming machines and 45 live table games for blackjack, roulette and poker variations.

Currently, the Cloverdale Rancheria is waiting for future public hearings as they move forward in the various environmental phases of the Environmental Impact Statement so as to break ground and begin works on the project.
