The Birmingham Race Course Casino (originally the Birmingham Turf Club) is located on Derby Parkway off John Rogers Drive in Birmingham's Liberty Highlands neighborhood in Alabama. The $85 million Thoroughbred facility opened in 1987 and was billed as the Deep South's first modern horse track. Live greyhound racing was added in 1992 and stopped running in April 2020 while thoroughbred racing was discontinued in June 1995. As of 2025, the venue offers simulcast races, parimutuel and historical horse racing games (similar to slots) and is open 24/7. Visitors can purchase quick eats, alcohol and soft drinks at the snack bar area in the casino.
In 2024, Wind Creek Hospitality, owned by the Poarch Band of Creek Indians, announced it had signed an agreement to buy the Birmingham Race Course Casino from the McGregor family, who owns VictoryLand Casino in Macon County. The sale is expected to be finalized by early 2025.
