Balmoral Park Racetrack is located at 26435 South Dixie Highway, just south of Crete, Illinois. The facility first opened August 9, 1926 and is currently owned by George Steinbrenner's family and a group of local track operators headed by Billy Johnston and his sons John and Duke.

The 5/8 mile track was eliminated in 1995 and a state-of-the-art lighting system was installed on the one-mile harness racing oval.

The track hosts harness racing for most of the year except for a period in January and February when the track is dark. On June 1, full-card simulcast wagering started and is still available today, year round. There are two restaurants and multiple concessions outlets track-side, and on the first and second floors. Crowd capacity for live racing is about 70,000.

The Lincoln Room Bar & Grill is located on the second floor at Balmoral Park. It'sa great place to come watch the live harness racing from a lofty perch, or enjoy the inter-track wagering facilities with plenty of big screen TVs to catch the action. There are many seating options including the winner's circle, private booths, and viewing carrells. There is a full service bar and an extensive menu featuring appetizers, hot sandwiches, soups, salads,  and desserts.
