Studio City opened near the Lotus Bridge on the Cotai Strip (Macau) on October 27th, 2015. The cinema-themed resort offers sheer glamour with a two-tower 4 star hotel, world-class entertainment venues, dining options from around the globe, hundreds of thousands of square feet of upscale retail space and magnificent gaming areas. Room rates are set a 4 star standard but accommodations and services are 5 star by all reports.
The architecture of the $3.2 billion entertainment center is Art Deco-inspired and extensively interactive. Guest of Studio 8 are invited to participate in live television broadcasts of television game shows and cooking shows among other productions. The main entertainment venue seats 5,000 and offers world-class performances by the biggest names in show business as well as theater shows, sporting events, family shows, and more. The centerpiece of the architecture, couched between the two hotel towers, is the world's first figure-8 Ferris wheel, the tallest entertainment ride in all of Asia.
Take a ride with Batman through Gotham City on the 4D flight simulation ride, Batman Dark Flight. Play with Daffy Duck or Bugs Bunny in the 40,000 square foot Warner Brothers Fun Zone.
Shop til you drop at The Boulevard at Studio City, developed in association with Taubman Asia with over 375,000 square feet of luxury retail space featuring world famous icons such as streetscapes from Times Square and Beverly Hills. Let some of the world's greatest magicians including Franz Harary mystify and amaze you at the three-theater House of Magic, or spend all night in the nightlife scene at Pacha Macau, bringing the best of Ibiza's nightclub experiences to the Strip.
Dozens of restaurants, cafes and bars offer global dining opportunities from the sublime to casual along with food courts and themed eateries sure to satisfy any taste or desire.
Studio City Macau is located on one of the proposed light rail lines making it a sure success for the mass market. In fact the casino opened with no VIP gaming rooms, the entire casino is open to mass market players. Melco-Crown currently holds a majority stake in the project. Melco is behind the amazing City of Dreams in Macau and Manila among other properties.
