Plaza Casino Review - CLOSED Jump to comments
The Plaza Casino is a fixture in downtown Las Vegas. It resides at the end of the road of the downtown casino walkway. In the old days, you could drive your car down that street and be surrounded by dazzling Vegas lights. Today, that street is a walkway only and it’s part of the Fremont Street Experience. Did you know that the Plaza hotel and casino was in the famous movie, “Casino”? There’s a scene in there where Robert De Niro and Sharon Stone are dining and arguing over money. In the movie you can see out onto Downtown from the restaurant. The Center Stage restaurant has since been closed, but you can still eat under the famous glass dome at Oscar's Steakhouse.
Although no longer called Center Stage, Oscar's Steakhouse is still a famous place to eat in Las Vegas. It’s filled with history. Today, Oscar's Steakhouse offers an outstanding view of the Fremont Street Experience. The entire restaurant is encapsulated in a beautiful glass dome, which provides one unique eating experience. Gone are the days of the 26oz Porterhouse but who brings their dog to Vegas anyway, or could eat such a slab of beef? Today you will find upscale pricing and more reasonable 8oz and 12oz filet mignon. Oscar's Steakhouse is one of the great places to dine in downtown Las Vegas. Be sure to read our restaurant review of Oscar's here.
It’s hard to talk about one specific show or event associated with the Plaza, because they always change their entertainment list to bring you the best shows. The Plaza offers a wide range of entertainment options including: comedy, boxing matches, traditional Vegas lounge acts, arm wresting, magic shows and many more. There’s always something different going on. Currently Emmy award winning comedian Louie Anderson performs Wednesdays through Saturdays, there is the Bonkers Comedy Club, and ZBar with LIVE entertainment on the weekends.

- Menus: Oscar's Steakhouse Menu
Oscar's Beef * Booze * Broads is a glamorous steakhouse opened in the The Plaza (under the famous dome formerly occupied by Center Stage) by former Las Vegas Mayor Oscar B. Goodman. The decor is accented by memorabilia garnered from Mayor Goodman's 12 year tenure as Mayor, along with classic photographs spanning the history of the city. Diners can expect expertly aged steaks fired over a 600 degree grill, locking in the juices and charring the surface to perfection, along with fresh seafood, sides and appetizers. There is plenty of booze to be had, and the Broads are optional, but available at your beck and call to discuss history, politics, gaming, or just sit there and look pretty while you enjoy your dinner and drinks.

Fremont Street Experience
Nearby Things to See & Do1 Main Street is the address of The Plaza Hotel and Casino and that makes this property the anchor for the Fremont Street Experience in Downtown Las Vegas. The "Street Experience" is just that no matter what time of day, night or year you happen upon it. For years now the scene has been about a lot more than flashing lights on casinos - now festivities are planned, top name entertainers and their fans take over the street, and Viva Vision has multiplied the thrill. This overhead attraction is 4 blocks long and 90 feet at the peak of the barrel vault covering Fremont Street. Amazing visions are displayed with the use of over 12 million LED lights making it the largest screen in the world. Sound is added to the experience with a concert quality sound system pumping out over a half a million watts of power. Zip line above the crowds, or join in for some of the most insane madness imaginable in public.
