On November 20, 2014, Paradise SegaSammy Co., Ltd. broke ground on their Paradise City integrated casino resort in the Incheon Free Economic Zone on Yeongjong island, just off the coast of Seoul, South Korea. The company is a joint venture between Sega Sammy Holdings of Japan and Paradise Co., Ltd. of South Korea. The company opened the republic's first fully-fledged integrated resort on April 20, 2017, plenty of time ahead of the 2018 Winter Olympics being held in Pyeongchang.

The resort, immediately accessible (by rail or 10-minute walk) from the Incheon International Airport, was built with entire families in mind, not just casino gamblers.
