Calata Corp has partnered with Macau Resources Group Ltd and American based investment group Sino-America Gaming Investment Group LLC for the project development of Mactan Leisure City that will be located in Lapu-Lapu City, Philippines.
The 14-hectare leisure and entertainment development project is planned to be worth P65-billion (US$1.4b) with construction works targeted to start early 2017 and taking up to 42 months to complete. According to estimates and projections, the development will be complete in the third quarter of 2020.
Mactan Leisure City resort will feature three hotels, including the first 7-Star hotel in Southeast Asia, an entertainment complex, yachting club, shops, a casino and conference facilities. The hotels will have a capacity of 2,000 rooms featuring modern amenities and services.
Upon acquiring a gaming license from the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR), the entertainment complex will feature a full-scale casino offering a selection of table games and gaming machines.
Calata Corp anticipates that Mactan Leisure City will generate tens of thousands of employment opportunities.
