UPDATE: Gun Lake Casino hosted a topping out ceremony on May 2, 2024, for its planned $300 million expansion that will add a 15-story, 252-room hotel, which is expected to open in spring 2025, along with the Wawyé Oasis, a 32,000-square-foot glass atrium/aquadome that will offer three pools, a swim-up bar and a night club. The Oasis is expected to open in May 2025 and will be kept at 80 degrees year-round and will offer events like concerts and banquets. There will also be a full-service spa, meeting space and more dining options.

The project is expected to be completed by March 2025.

In September 2021, a major $100 million expansion of Gun Lake Casino was completed, doubling the size of the gaming floor and adding more space for entertainment and dining.

Owned by the Match-e-be-nash-she-wish Band of Pottawatomi, Gun Lake Casino is located in Wayland, MI  between Grand Rapids and Kalamazoo off Exit 61 on U.S. 131. From Grand Rapids head south about 25 miles toward Kalamazoo and take exit 61 off US-131.

The property features 156,000 square feet of gaming with a full-service sportsbook, more than 2,500 gaming machines and 47 gaming tables. Card games include favorites such as Three Card Poker, Progressive Mississippi Stud and Progressive Ultimate Texas Hold ‘Em. The new 14-table non-smoking poker room runs a variety of games including Omaha and Texas Hold'em.

The casino features four dining choices including a 300-seat buffet and a 24-hour cafe, along with two bar/lounges, one with live entertainment and VIP table service and a new bar, Chill, with a full selection of beer, wine, cocktails and your favorite slushy drinks.

A five-story, 1,200-space parking structure that includes a building extension with an additional coat check, rewards center, administrative offices, slot machines, bar and self-serve station was also added to the property in December 2018. 

Gun Lake Casino partners with many local hotels including Bay Pointe Inn, located in Shelbyville about 10 miles from the casino and several others which are all within about 15 miles or so of the casino.
